I have tried bankrupcy of my student loans due to economic hardship- paid $5000 in legal fees only to have the judge rule that I should do the best I can with the programs available from the lender. IMHO individuals have little chance of discharge thru the court. Legislation such as just passed by the House and Senate circa July 2007 which would cap repayment at 15% of disposable income is the only solution.

best effort is a mass effect....no one has the miracle answer....we need to organize and fight the battle as a unified source, not buy someones book that got them out of debt.....

Yes, a mass effort is needed. BUT individuals can move the ball further down the field by winning their own, individual cases.
